The third annual Art of Ethiopia exhibition at the Sheraton Addis opened on Saturday, August 21, 2010, with 40 established and aspiring artists displaying 400 artworks

Famous and aspiring artists alike joined each other in a combined exhibition of their work, showcasing 400 works between them in the third annual Art of Ethiopia exhibition held at the Sheraton Addis, which opened on Saturday, August 21, 2010, in the Lalibela Ballroom, which has been temporarily partitioned to display the paintings and sculptures.
The hotel has been a patron of local art since its opening 12 years ago, according to Omar Carrera, executive assistant manager in charge of sales and marketing.

“It is good for the image of the country to showcase its artistic talent,” Carrera said. “Ethiopians are known for being good athletes but they are very creative, too.”
